In 1966 Founder and President of New Valley Drilling Co. Ltd., Clyde Parsons, began drilling himself at the young age of 16. Clyde worked for a variety of companies prior to moving to Springdale, NL. One company was Canadian owned that employed him while they were drilling in Panama. Following that, he worked for a company in Ontario and lastly, managed Petro Drilling Co. Ltd., in Springdale, NL. In 1984, Clyde and his wife Shirley decided to become Entrepreneurs and launch their own and current company, New Valley Drilling Co. Ltd. Clyde hails from Newtown, NL and Shirley from Valleyfield, NL, hench where the name “New” “Valley” was derived from, their home towns.
Since 1984, NVD has been a family owned and operated business. NVD comes with extensive years of experience and expertise. It is because of this that they are trusted and well known with the province of NL. NVD has had and still has employees that have worked solely for them for more than 30 years. Clyde and Shirley founded their company based on the principals of honesty, hard work and dedication to the exploration industry.
NVD prides itself on providing a safe and healthy work environment for that of its employee’s and those they work for. In 2023, NVD is proud to say they became a COR certified company and will continue to keep safety and wellness at the forefront of their mission. It is the mission of NVD to continue growing and pushing forward in the exploration industry for years to come and proudly maintain it to be a family owned and operated business.
